"The Oasis" is a network of house churches that are meeting in accordance with Acts 2:42 & 2:46..."and they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer...continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house." Our fellowship is centered around the importance of understanding the true identity and function of the Church as being the expression of the Kingdom of God in the earth." Our focus is on the fact that as believers, we are the church (not the building, organization etc.), and as such, must function as the Apostle Paul instructs.
Our model is to make disciples who understand their responsibility to mature into "spiritual parenthood," and thus begin the process of discipling others.
The Oasis is not an institution in which you join, but rather a "living body" in which the Lord grafts you. Each person is encouraged in personal growth and the development of Christ-likeness. As a part of a body, it is necessary that each person identify their "God-given" function and contribute those gifts to the welfare of the body. |
